Why we use the best T-304 stainless steel... |
 |

Mild steels exhaust systems are replaced every year due to corrosion and poor
performance. Exhaust gases are a mix of carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen,
unburnt carbons and moisture. These gases condense and attack the system
internal components. |
 |

Elements such as corrosive salts, moisture and mud contribute to exterior
deterioration. These elements combined with the vibration of the vehicle, high
temperatures, emission control requirements, uneven road surfaces, make it easy
to understand the need and demand for a long lasting exhaust system.
Many custom exhaust systems are built from inferior 400-type stainless steel.
The rely on the unawareness of customers, that because the number is higher that
it is better than 300 type.
The way stainless steel works is the lower the number
the better quality the stainless is.
Reflex exhausts are built from the highest-grade T-304 stainless steel sourced
from only the very best metal manufactures in the US.
Our exhausts are stainless inside and out, not mild steel, not just
wrapped with stainless on the outside for show.
Coating techniques, such as stainless steel, can somewhat prolong the life of
mild steel, but coatings suffer at the weld points and as the pipe work is mild
steel, mild steel weld must be used which means the weld points will always rust
first.
The T-304 stainless steel we use has the highest chromium content,
making it the most resistant to corrosion and therefore the most desirable
material for a long lasting exhaust system.
Please Note: Sometimes your Original equipment flanges will be used for
installation, which are possibly not stainless. |
